The recycling and safe management of used oil in New Hampshire is important for the public health and environment of New Hampshire. The Used Oil Management Program encourages these practices and oversees the proper management of used oil relative to generation, storage, transportation, collection and recycling.
This is done through the development of regulations and policies, technical assistance, compliance inspections and enforcement.
Used Oil Collection Grants
NHDES issues grants for collection centers for used oil from residents who change their own oil (Do-It-Yourselfers), which is then properly recycled at licensed facilities.
